Lego is characterized by its colorful toys that are made using construction blocks, but it also has made incursions into the robotics area. Thus, there are robots that can be assembled using their emblematic blocks, but not only that; they can be remote-controlled through a mobile app to move and perform several actions.
Lego Mindstorms is a program that lets you create movement programs for your Lego robots. In line with the spirit of the company, the interface for creating those programs is designed to appear as if you were assembling blocks. Each block represents a different movement or a part of it, and it can be edited easily so you can get the exact actions you want.
The basic program includes blocks for programming six different robots, although there are more in the company's catalog. If your robot is not in the list, you may need to download additional blocks from the "More robots" section of the program.
Initially, the process is easy. Nevertheless, if you want to create more complex programs, you will need to immerse yourself into the process. To help you in doing so, Mindstorms includes several video tutorials that will allow you to learn more quickly.
The program is free, but it only works with Lego robot toys. If you have one of these and want to program its moves, then you will find this program useful.
